After backpacking through Malaysia, I decided, the last couple of my days, I would like to spend in a hotel to ensure a good night’s sleep and a great shower. After doing some research, I decided Nostalgia would be nice, not too expensive and in a desirable location.
I checked into Nostalgia on a Friday. The facade of the hotel leaves a bit to be desired. However, I kept an open mind. I stepped into the lobby and it was nice. I was not blown away, but I was satisfied. Check in was simple and I was shown to my room. The room was a standard queen. It was very small, but comfortable. I also got nice light into my room with the window. Â Free coffee and tea and water and a very very soft comfortable bed for my slumbers.
The shower and the room was clean and I was satisfied with the value for the money. You definitely notice that the hotel could use a bit of sprucing up. For example, the carpets aren’t clean and I definitely notice some staining in the hallways. The room’s carpet was good. I read that it comes off as a backpacker’s hotel. I definitely understand why someone would say that. It doesn’t come off as luxury at all, although I wasn’t paying for that. If you’re looking for luxury this isn’t it. If you are looking for a nice, clean hotel with comfortable beds, and clean showers, this is a nice step up for standard.
This hotel is close to transportation too. The bus is about a 3 minute walk for buses to the Quays and other popular spots. The MRT is about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the hotel. Originally, is seemed further. But, I got used to it. It’s convenient for airport travel. Straight shot to and from the airport. Honestly speaking, I would definitely stay here again if I’m on a budget.
Good Spot.
