It was my dad’s childhood dream to build his dream home when he retired. Now that he has all his dreams came true, this also meant living in a house with his own private two-car, mechanical door garage with an adjacent gym, something you rarely see in Malaysia. My dad has always been one to break the rules and that particular genetic influence came barging through my genetic makeup but that for another story.
We were staying in KL for the longest time. Our house was practically five minutes away from Mid Valley so we would call Mid Valley our second home. That’s where we shopped, ate, spent time watching movies, and celebrated countless birthdays. So it’s only natural that we looked for out gymming equipment there as well. There are several gym equipment stores in Mid Valley and this is one of the more prominent ones.
The store is simple and straightforward. They had a several machines (some of which I’ve never even seen in a gym!) on display and we enquired about each one. What my dad basically wants in his gym is a weight machine, an elliptical, a treadmill, the rower machine and a stationary bicycle machine. They had a few variants of each of the machines and we were free to try them out.
The cute guy who worked there was really helpful and knew the products really well, which is really good especially when it comes to fitness machines. You could recommend the wrong machine to the customers just for the sake of closing a sale, which would be dangerous and sometimes lethal.
We got a few brochures to read over when we got home but sadly we didn’t get anything for our gym from this particular store. We were dealt with a better deal at another fitness store but it was all very informative for us regardless of that.
They also had a whole display case filled with protein shakes, energy bars multivitamins and other health foods which I generally don’t care about but since the guy was cute I tried my best to keep a straight face.
I still don’t care for protein shakes.
