This place is literally a hole-in-the-wall about five doors down from Nations. Lots of parking in front but be wary when backing out as traffic moving through the parking lot seems to be in a bit of a hurry.
The place was empty when we walked in. The one employee (owner?) was sitting just inside the door watching curling on tv. He greeted us and immediately went behind the counter. We asked for his suggestions since this was our first visit.
He recommended Bibimbap as this was one of their specialities. We ordered Galbi Bibimbap, Chicken Dolsot, Jap Chae and the free Kim Chee.
Both were very good. I enjoyed the Dolsot the most because of the way that the stone bowls make the rice nice and crispy. The Jap Chae was also very good.
Overall, this was a great meal. The employee checked on us a couple of times to make sure that we were enjoying our food and he took a minute to thank us when we were exiting even though he was busy cooking for the two tables that came in while we were eating.
We ordered:
Miso soup – simple & refreshing
Kimchi Pancake – it was good, bit chewy but some ppl do enjoy that a lot
JapChae (Glass Noodles) – very simple but flavorful
Traditional Dolsot Bibimbap Bowl with Beef – absolutely the bomb, I thoroughly enjoyed mine with sunny side up egg and crispy warm rice
Regular Bibimbap bowl with Beef – this was pretty good too, all the ingredients were fresh and very measuredly cut – shout out to the sous chef doing the chopping!
The ambiance is lack luster but don’t let that dismay you as the food is downright delish!
