Victoria Institution (VI) is a secondary school for boys and also offers Pre-U education that includes girls. Year 1893 is the year VI was establish making it the oldest school in Kuala Lumpur and it is rich in history as it was once used by the Japanese as a formal site to surrender themselves at the Heritage Hall (Dewan Warisan)
Preferably, on weekends tourists are allowed to tour around the school. Unfortunately there is no one in specific to give you a tour. So it would be great if you know someone that has studied there before to bring you around the compound. The distinctive E shape of the main building from the bird eyes view and the clock tower are the unique aspects of the building. They also have two pavilions in front of the school field. Since it is an old school, they also have a museum that is incredibly interesting!
On certain weekend there will be events going on and I think it would be a great opportunity for tourists to get a glimpse of the events going on. Sometimes the school band will be practicing also, so you might hear them playing the music instruments.
